At the entrance doors, carved massive cedar, its concrete structure seems inconspicuous. The building is set in grassy berms, a forest glade of firs and cedars, stream "fountain", native garden planting, a large reflecting pool and gravel beds. Visitors stroll under a tree canopy to see informative signage and a replica longhouse at the rear of the museum where the concrete outline is evident. This building is an homage to the magnificent totem poles and massive longhouses of the Pacific Northwest indigenous people. High walls of glass bring light and glass inside and highlight the monumental totems and outside there are breathtaking reflections of the sky and water pool. The sky and water become the backdrop for the wood and metalwork on display in the great hall. The concrete structure respects First Nations indigenous longhouse construction. Evergreen Building

A ten-storey concrete office building with a unique trapezoidal plan, receding terraces and overhanging plantings. Located at the edge of an escarpment, it reacts to a difficult, trapezoidal site through spatial complexity. Erickson designed a stepped building, creating complex geometries through the interplay of offset zigzag and linear floor plates. Nature is incorporated within architecture by a series of receding, angled balconies, creating the building's distinctive profile.

Monumental concrete building with a roof forming an abstract gable. The two opposite window sides are structured with a protruding concrete grid, similar to a waffle iron pattern.

MacMillan Bloedel Building

Constructed for forestry giant MacMillan Bloedel, this landmark building has been likened to an old-growth tree – it tapers from plaza level to the top floors. Cast-in-place concrete construction demonstrates various finishes: exposed aggregate paving, sandblasted concrete walls, and bush-hammered concrete relief panels both inside and outside the building.

Granville Square

Completed in 1973, this building is the only finished part of Project 200, a waterfront redevolopment, which included an office, a hotel, residential towers, and a freeway going through downtown Vancouver, but due to a lack of funding and grassroots opposition was never completely realized.
