The polygonal, staggered, two- to five-story school building is located at the edge of the historic city center of Ingolstadt. With its Brutalist design language it complements the Stadttheater, designed by Hämer a few years before, aesthetically as well as conceptually. The exposed concrete building contrasts with the surrounding trees. A special feature is: measured according to the guidelines of the time, the site was about 40% too small for a school and has a correspondingly smaller break area. To compensate for this, green roof terraces were designed that can be accessed via open staircases and offer additional outdoor space fpr the pupils with a great view.
