An addition of similar scale for sciences was planned to adjoin the site, however the original implementation did not occur in later campus plans with newest addition of a Destination Project Science building finally taking its place being completed in 2019. Planned major 6000 sq meter interior renewal after completion of move to adjoining building (Fall 2019), removal of chemical fume stacks from top of building, North end wood cladding removal and renovation to connect to adjacent building is in progress and will be complete Jan 2019. |

With his vivid, sculptural use of concrete, Erickson has been repeatedly called a “concrete poet” in the press. The main Lethbridge University building’s façade is segmented with horizontal concrete bands to “reveal the rich contours of even the most level prairie”. Indeed the structure appears like a spaceship in the Canadian prairie.
