| Construction Date | 1972 |
Against 206 submitted proposals Max Speidel successfully asserted himself with his design of a combination of concrete, glass and wood. Embedded in the Wittelsbacher park, the building merges organically into nature due to its large glass fronts. Massive concrete elements become very light, the roof almost seems to float above the glazed walls. A vaulted canopy supported by two concrete girders signals the main entrance and concrete shelters or stairs complete the ensemble. The horizontal and vertical shuttering patterns cover the building with a pattern, thus reinforcing the calm and wide but also delicate appearance des Gebäudes.
