Footscray Psychiatric Centre
| Condition | New entrance built in the early 1990s. Closed in 1996 with intermittend use in the early 2000s. Today the building is mostly vacant and used for storage. There are plans for converting the building into a teaching, research and administration building with potential extensive remodeling. Protect Footscray Psychiatric Centre tried to raise awareness and protect the original structure. On the 22nd of May 2020 the Heritage Council Victoria announced its decision that the Footscray Psychiatric Centre is to be included as a Registered Place in the Victorian Heritage Register. |
