| Condition | The building is relatively very well preserved. After operating as a birthing hospital until the late 80s, outliving the entire civil war period, it was sold in the early 90s to another doctor who transformed it into a an elderly ICU specialist unit. It is unclear what happened in the late 90s and early 00s, but it was sold to prominent Tripoli tycoon and former Primer Minister Najib Mikati around 2004. It’s currently acting as a warehouse for his charity. Recently the building was assessed to be demolished or significantly altered and can be considered highly threatened. Special thanks to Firas Kay. |
