| Condition | Unfortunately, the church had to be extensively renovated due to weather damage in 1982 and the roof was renovated in 2004. Because of this, the exposed concrete can only be found in the interior of the church, the outside is dominated by aluminium cladding. Special thanks to Schmott. |

A shining cone extends over 46 metres and juts out of the landscape of houses, the steeple of the Roman Catholic Church looks almost dangerous, this is intensified by the jagged facade of the elliptical ground plan. The façade is characterized by alternating concrete panels and glass windows. Due to the use of mirror raw glass, the building appears to be turned in on itself and closed from the outside. Inside, however, this is cancelled out by the light that falls through the many windows and hits the altar, which is enclosed in a semicircle by the church tower. The ceiling façade design consists of a concrete diamond pattern. In the vernacular the church is also popularly called the Ascension Rocket ("Himmelfahrtsrakete").
