| Condition | The building seems to be in quite original condition. It is heritage protected, but the city of Coesfeld intends to renovate, modernise and remodel the whole complex in the forthcoming years (2019 to 2023). Regarding other recent projects of renovating buildings from the seventies one can easily imagine that little will remain of the original appearance and the exposed concrete will vanish under thermal insulation cladding. |

This is a typical example of 1970s school buildings in Germany. In a large complex of one- to three-storey units different school types are gathered together in one spot on about 32,800 m2 floor space. The facade is structured horizontally with glass and exposed concrete, which is accentuated by colored shapes. In the yard there is a covered footpath made of mushroom-shaped exposed concrete elements. Written by Torsten Ahlers
