Located in the city’s historic Cubbon Park area and along the prominent civic corridor Ambedkar Veedhi, the site selected for the project was particularly charged. Deftly evading even remotely nostalgic alignments with the adjoining colonial presence of the red stuccoed High Court Building, General Post Office and the revivalist spectacle of Vidhana Soudha (Legislative Assembly), Correa designed stark, unadorned, exposed form-finish concrete tower blocks that outrageously dominated the emerging skyline.
