It is a corporate tower which hosts governmental offices. It was originally conceived to be the headquarter of the insurance company Seguros Británica (British Insurances, in aproximate translation), complemented with shops and an art gallery on street level, which created between them a public square. Nowadays also governmental offices occupy this spaces. Its shape is an antiseismic design that consists in a pointed cross that has a cap at the top, allowing the movement to enter to the tower in four directions, but having a common closure that could distribute the forces equally along the tower.
