Through an invited competition, Matthias Szauer was able to win the contract for the planning of the Secondary School in Stoob in 1971. On an outskirt area of the city, the architect designed the facility according to the model already used at the secondary schools in Purbach and Großwarasdorf. The center of the school is formed by the classroom wing, which is built around a central hall. Here, a gymnasium wing is adjoined in the east. Together with the classroom building both wings frame the schoolyard from two sides. In terms of its architectural design, the Stoob Secondary School is to be regarded as the successor to the Großwarasdorf Secondary School, where the interplay of exposed concrete in the attics and other details, but otherwise plastered surfaces, also dominate in the external appearance.
