Laboratory and Residential Building on Hafez Street

This Laboratory and Residential Building was built for the architect's brother Dr. Sirous Davarpanah. The ground floor is used as a pharmacy while on the upper floors there are residential units, divided in North and South oriented apartments. In the 1970s, escape stairs on mid-high residential buildings in Tehran were added to the volume as separate structures, as on the south side of this building. The building owes its unique appearance to its brick façade with cubically protruding volumes of parapets and bays.
