In 1965, St Jude's Catholic Church replaced a temporary wooden hut built as a 'chapel of ease' in Worsley Mesnes due to the development of the new housing estate. LAG Prichard and Son designed a fan-shaped church with large reinforced double-height concrete frames and a flat roof. On the side walls are six full-height staggered stained glass windows fanning out diagonally with dalle de verre glass, designed by Robin Riley, set in concrete panels . Otherwise, the concrete frames are infilled with red bricks. In front of the entrance porch is a circular baptistry with four tapering concrete fins holding a pole with a cross.
