The Hochholz Housing Estate comprises five terraced apartment buildings with a total of 280 residential units on an area of 3.32 hectares. Part of the design concept was to create living space under, in, and over trees. This was achieved by the composition of the buildings with interwoven public green areas and several terraces for the individual apartments. The terraced apartment buildings vary between floor heights of three, six or nine floors. The architecture is characterized in particular by circumferential, slanted and stonemasonry-finished balcony parapets. This particularly emphasizes the horizontal of the façade. The raised stair towers in exposed concrete with their steep monopitch roofs serve as accentuating and rhythmic vertical structuring elements. In addition, recessed loggias, projecting entrances, and window areas at the exterior wall level are important to the distinctive appearance of the terrace houses.
