The thermal power station Maxvorstadt by the architect Theo Papst is, like its sister building in Müllerstraße, one of the few thermal power stations in the centre of Munich. When completed in 1956, the building was closed off from Theresienstrasse with a lattice wall. Nowadays, the façade, which was probably added in the 1970s, is made of exposed concrete and clinker brick. The access tower is characterised by an exposed concrete façade with cast-in ornaments. Although the façade has no openings, it gives the impression of a residential building by indicating different floors through material differences. Protruding pillars divide the façade vertically.
