For international and national guest lecturers and employees of the University of Stuttgart, 1-4-room apartments were to be created, whose surroundings would enable the residents to settle in quickly. For this purpose, the planning group Lutz + Wick created a sixteen-story residential complex with a flat roof in a reinforced concrete bulkhead construction, whose structure is strongly determined by the stair towers, the elevator tower and numerous arcades and balconies, which are readable from outside. In principle, the building consists of smaller multiple dwellings stacked on top of each other, with play and contact areas per unit at the elevator stations and shared terraces, which dissolves the anonymity between the different apartment parties. In the entrance area, the apartment tower is complemented by 1-2-story flat-roofed buildings housing a kindergarten and club rooms which are for the common use. Open staircases also connect the roof terraces created here with the courtyard, where a pavilion-like structure with a restaurant open to the general public was placed as well.
