The main building of the catholic church St. Burkard was built in 1618. In the 1960s, the brutalist extension was added which creates a side aisle to the old church. The extension sits like a spaceship in the centre of the picturesque wine village of Erlenbach. Its concrete walls hide a more traditional interior, featuring an impressive Baroque chancel.
